Juliette Brindak owns $15 million website for teen girls

The spirit of entrepreneurship is alive and well in America, thanks to motivated youthful women like Juliette Brindak. Her wildly popular Web property MissOandFriends.com is well worth a whopping $15 million, writes CollegeNews.com. It started with cartoon drawings but soon became an online social empire that outpaces the competitors.

Bindak got her family in on everything

Once people began to tell young Brindak that they liked her drawings, she got her household in on the act. Soon, the characters seemed to get their own lives. Of course, Young entrepreneur Brindak’s idea to start MissOandFriends.com originated from someone else. After watching what her sister went through, she made the idea:

“Girls could be mean. Boys come into the picture, and school begins to get significant. It’s just really stressful. I thought, ‘We should really start doing one thing for these girls’.”

2005 was the start of MissOandFriends.com

Girls are able to interact with peers, play games and even get advice on MissOandFriends.com. Essentially, it’s a social network for females. Juliette Bindak employs over 30 individuals, accounts CollegeNews.com. This involves her parents, interns, a webmaster, a lawyer and a psychologist. The site is meant to keep teenage girls safe which is what the employees do. This is so girls can work on their self esteem and still feel safe. Popularity and fitting in matter less than the quality time users can spend together conversing about their worries and dreams.

Competing for her dream

Little did Juliette Brindak know that her dream would draw an investment from Procter and Gamble in 2008 and that her site would be valued at $15 million. Miss O and Friends is now so popular that it developed into a book deal. Juliette Brindak explained that about 120,000 copies of the book have sold. The popularity of MissOandFriends.com is easy to prove, claims Pro Entrepreneur Diary. If you check out Alexa traffic, you are able to see that Girl Scouts, Hello Kitty and Barbie were not even visited as much as this website. More than 7,000 classroom sites have MissOandFriends.com on there in the U.S. while McClatchy Tribune puts it under “kids Counsel”.
