Huge Impala recall by GM

GM has begun an Impala recall. The recall affects 300,000 automobiles that could possibly have defective seat belts. A crash may cause improperly attached seat belts to come apart. You will find only two model years affected. Owners of the affected models could be contacted by GM.

A lot of Impala recalled

Over 300,000 cars will need to be repaired by GM with the Impala recall which has a seat belt defect. There are only two affected model years of the Chevrolet Impala, based on USA Today. Do you own a 2009 or 2010 model year of the Chevrolet Impala? You need to contact General Motors or the nearest Chevrolet dealership immediately. If you need information on the Impala recall, 800-630-2438 is the number to call. If your automobile is being recalled, you will be notified. Dealerships and GM will send out notices. Owners of the recalled cars will not have to pay anything for the defective seatbelt that is easy to fix.

Recall with seat belts due to defect

General Motors maintains an investigative division to catch these difficulties before everyone is hurt or killed. Cable News Network accounts that no injuries or deaths occurred since the seat belt deficiency had been there. The Chevy Impala has issues with the front seatbelts. That’s why there’s a recall. The lap belt pretensioner is supposed to have the belts security anchored into it. This doesn’t seem to be the case. The danger is that in a crash, the belt can become separated from the mounting for the front passengers.

Fortunate break in regular maintenance

The reports began during warranty maintenance of the seat belt, which GM investigated. The recall had been announced just as a precaution since nine claims had come in by June 2009 and 32 had come in by August 2010. There weren’t any accounts of injury or death. By the end of Oct, all owners should have their automobiles inspected.
