Accusations of Tea Party racism soar again in National Association for the Advancement of Colored People statement

The NAACP is bothered by racists within the Tea Party, and it’s telling America over it. The NAACP said last summer the Tea Party is racist, and they’re repeating that argument in an official report. The report by the NAACP, titled “Tea Party Nationalism,” alleges that white supremacists, racists and bigots are tolerated by the membership of the movement.

Tea Party Nationalism report

A Tea Party Nationalism statement by the NAACP was done. It focuses on the ties between “acknowledged racist hate groups” and Tea Party Factions. What most people probably won’t notice is the NAACP Tea Party report makes a point that it isn’t throwing a blanket allegation over the movement as a whole. NAACP president Ben Jealous said that Tea Party members tend to be “sincere, principled people of goodwill” in a forward. Then he says that Tea Party Nationalism has some connections with racist groups associated with the Tea Party that “should give all patriotic Americans pause.”.

Tea Party’s poor examples

Racial epithets about Obama were contained in Tea Party rallies. This is what the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People Tea Party report refers to. Tea Party Nationalism recounts incidents where black congressmen accused Tea Party members of shouting racial slurs at them during a March 2010 protest against health care reform. Denying the racism within the protests along with the links to white supremacists and so called “birthers” who say that Obama does not have United States citizenship is what Jealous has challenged Tea Party leaders to do.

NAACP Tea Party resolution identified

The NAACP Tea Party feud began at the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People convention in Kansas City last July when NAACP members voted on a solution condemning the Tea Party for racism. The NAACP was called racist by some of the Tea Party members due to the media fight that begun. The NAACP Tea Party resolution had been a lot like Wednesday’s Tea Party Nationalism report in that is told the Tea Party leaders to make things better since there shouldn’t be racial discrimination within the Tea Party. The online network Tea Party Patriots admitted to racist behavior at Tea Party rallies but went on the record to say it would not be tolerated.
