Jailbreak for Apple 4.1 devices launched by developers

Barely a month after iOS 4.1 had been released by Apple, two developers have released programs that allow Mac users to unlock their 4.1 devices. iPhones, iPads, and iPods all run on Apple iOS, and probably the most recent version is 4.1. Greenpois0n and limera1n both hack through the base programming of this operating system to unlock the device. There is controversy about this 4.1 unlock, though, from the hacker community all the way to the patent office.

“Jailbreaking” or unlocking a gadget, especially with 4.1 unlock tools, does a few specific things. You are able to make an iPhone or iPad do whatever programming you want it to if you have unlocked the programming already in it. Any system that has been unlocked will have its warranty become void. This involves using a 4.1 unlock.

Unlocking tools contain the limera1n and greenpois0n 4.1

There had been significant controversy when the 4.1 unlock by programmer Geohot was released. The Chronic Dev team had prepared on unlocking the iOS 4.1 with Greenpois0n. This had been supposed to happen on 10/10/10 at 10:10 a.m.. Chronic Dev had been beat by Geohot who launched his jailbreak the day before. A PC only had one option though. This had been the Limera1n. As of today, nevertheless, the limera1n tool is also available for Mac, making two programs that can be used for your Apple product unlock.

Debate over 4.1 unlocking tools

Individuals have always been working to crack the code that comes with the idea of “locked” programming. Sometimes, users just want to improve the programming a gadget has. The user may have ideas of how it could be better. Others do it for the challenge. Many users are excited to determine these jailbreaks that let them do no matter what they want with their purchased devices. You will find some problems that aren’t being looked at though. The iPhone, Android and Blackberry are so separate because of the programming that comes with them. You are taking away what the company has told you when you crack or jailbreak the programming. Though unlocking an iPhone is no longer illegal in all situations, it depends on why you are doing it. Plus, 4.1 unlock tools could allow you to do illegal things, which some say means they ought to be banned. There shouldn’t be a trademark, copyright or patent on the programming code anyway. That’s what many ot! hers think.
