The 17-year old student alleges that Keenon Aampay Hall gave him a failing grade when he did not comply with her relationship requests. Keenon Aampay Hall has admitted the relationship, though she claims she resigned from her teaching position for medical reasons.

A 17 year old senior in Keenon Aampay Hall’s class has accused her of a sexual relationship. The student only informed school officials about the six-month long relationship after he got a failing grade in Hall’s class. Allegedly, the teacher had told the student that he should father a child with her – and when he refused, she failed him. There was also supposedly pornographic material found on Keenon Aampay Hall’s school-issued computer.
Keenon Aampay Hall leaves her job
At the beginning of this school year, Keenon Aampay Hall was awarded “Teacher of the Year” in Gwinnett County. Keenon Aampay Hall resigned her position as a teacher, though she claims it was for medical reasons. In the paperwork, Keenon Aampay Hall admitted to having a consensual sexual relationship with the student. Allegedly, the teacher spent quick payday loans on the student, giving him a cell phone, cash, paying for hotel rooms and cabs, and more.
Potential consequences for Keenon Aampay Hall
Several separate investigations have been launched in Gwinnett County. A complaint against Keenon Aampay Hall will be investigated by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. Hall’s teaching license might be revoked by the commission. The county police are also investigating, under the authority of a new law that makes it illegal for teachers to have sex with students, consensual or not. Hall will have to pay restitution well above and beyond the $ 35,600 a year salary of a teacher in Georgia, as well as register as a sexual offender.
