Raser Technologies Stocks Up on Clean Energy

Raser Technologies introduces electric H3

raserRaser Technologies, Inc., today had the honor of ringing the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange. The timing couldn’t have been better. The company recently unveiled its plug-in electric Hummer H3 E-REV.

The full-size SUV reportedly averages 100 miles per gallon. Raser Technologies is a leading energy technology company that started being traded on the NYSE in December.

Welcome to the stock market

Raser is a relatively new company to the NYSE, and Kraig Higginson, Chairman of Raser Technologies, spoke during the bell-ringing ceremony today.

“We are very pleased to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange, the world's premier market for publicly traded companies that offers greater access to global capital markets,” Higginson said.

The ceremony put clean energy in the spotlight, and environmentalists all over the blogosphere rejoiced.

Can I buy an electric H3?

Not yet. Production is expected to start sometime in 2011. There’s no word on price yet, but I am assuming buyers will need some hefty personal loans to afford this beast. It’s the same size as a regular H3 — a huge deviation from the compact packages that electric cars usually come in.

The H3 E-REV can go more than 400 miles on a single charge. The vehicle features an E-REV power train engine. and three lithium ion battery packs.
