Brain Protein Can Act As Antidepressant Drug

American researchers have claimed that a brain protein which is responsible to control the fear and anxiety can be utilized to lower the depression. It can help a persona that has depression to control their mental stress and their depression. After a vast research and experiment was done on the mice, scientists have found that the protein named ASIC1a, a type of the ion channel protein, is very active as an anti-depressant medication. However, it has also been confirmed by scientists that the impact of the ASIC1a will be much more prominent through a different biological system. The new mechanism is very urgent because if the patient doesn't respond well to one medication, he should be given another medication through the different mechanism as per the reports of John Wemmie, M.D. Ph.D. of the psychiatry and neurosurgery who teaches at the UI Carver College of Medicine. ASIC1a inhibition nurtures a new hope in the mind of scientists to make a qualitative anti-depressant drug. However, further research is needed to make this medication much more powerful without producing any side effects.
