The "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" reviews indicate that diehard supporters can be pleased. Granted, reviews are out for only the first part of the "Deathly Hallows" saga. That said, the reviews are mostly good and contend that followers will like it but the inexperienced probably won’t.
Reviews on ‘Harry Potter and the Death Hallows’
On Rotten Tomatoes, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” reviews are mostly optimistic. The rating is 77 percent "fresh" for the film even though it is possible for it to change. Some reviews describe the film as uninteresting, but the bottom line is that if a viewer is a longtime fan, the film is sure to be interesting. The final installments are considerably darker than previous installments, but the book made it clear the “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” movie was not going to be as whimsical as previous entries. Roger Ebert gave the film three out of four stars, and when his assessment of the tone and performances of the film are overwhelmingly optimistic, he does point out that devoted fans are likely to understand it far better than the uninitiated.
Loder unloads
Kurt Loder used to be a movie critic at MTV. He wasn't that impressed. He explains that "whole sequences..cry out for elimination" within the film when "after two and a half lackluster hours" the film had a huge cliffhanger that likely should have just been ended. However, he also points out that the movie has redeeming virtues.
Something fans will want to view
Ultimately, anyone going to the seventh film within the series is probably a fan. Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson are all likely ready to move on to the next stage in their careers, but those who grew up with “Harry Potter” and Hogwarts hopefully have a satisfying wrap up to one of probably the most legendary film and book franchises of the decade.
