Shear Genius is supposedly intended to be a competition about hairstyling. On Bravo for the third season, the Shear Genius winner for Season 3 has certainly stirred up quite a bit of controversy.
The winner of the Shear Genius competition, whether she deserves it or not, can be receiving a photo shoot with Allure Magazine also as $ 100,000 in cash advance prize money.
Brig: Shear Genius winner
Brig was clearly not the best hairstylist on Shear Genius. However, Brig was certainly the best competitor on Shear Genius. Winner positions on reality shows tend to go to the competitor that provides the best TV, not necessarily probably the most skilled.
It appears that it would make more sense for Brig, with her crazy outfits and large hair bows, would be the Genius Winner prize and won't have to borrow money to help with her big bow addiction.
Shear Genius and the way it works
Shear Genius is a TV show that is much like Top Chef and Project Runway, with a hairstyling theme. Every week the changers are given one short cut challenge where they aren't eliminated and one elimination challenge.
Each challenge for elimination has a style that the competitors much match before sending them down the runway to be seen by a panel of judges.
The drama of Brig
On Shear Genius, the drama bucket of the show all went to Brig. Throughout the show, she wore huge bows, worked just as often for the drama instead of the win, and generally ended up being the center of controversy. In the end, Brig's buns with extensions won even though the other two finalists, Matthew Morris and Janine Jarman, were much more liked by fans. Many individuals think that the "triumph over adversity" story by Briggs was pushed too much.
Whatever the reasons were, Brig managed to talk herself on to the show, and then work her way up to become the Shear Genius winner.
