Oheka Castle

Set in the hills of Long Island this 443 Acre plot was once home to Otto Hermann Kahn who build Oheka Castle for his family in the 1920’s. This was his summer family home, with 127 rooms that he regularly held big parties for heads of state, and Hollywood stars.

When Kahn died in 1934, the estate was used by various purposes, but did not return to the splendor of its heyday until 1984, when Gary Melius, a developer bought and restored it. To make sure it was brought back to its original shape, he brought in researchers and architects to make sure every detail was authentic and correct.

The Castle is now a modern estate that has been featured in magazines such as Uptown, Brides Receptions and most recently People Magazine, when Kevin Jonas was wed there. It has come back into the limelight now that Derek Jeter and his bride to be, Minka Kelly are to be wed there in November of this year. It has beautiful gardens and fountains, as well as wide open spaces to hold large receptions.
