Elizabeth Hasselbeck's comments on Erin Andrews about the wardrobe on Dancing with the Stars haven't endeared the “View” co-host to numerous. One comment Hasselbeck made referring to Andrews and about how her stalker should have just waited to see her within the outfits rather than invading her privacy. To say these remarks were insensitive would be understatement. It will take a lot more than installment payday loans for a truckload of mouthwash to wash the taste of foot in mouth after this thing.
Elizabeth Hasselbeck and her Erin Andrews remarks
On Tuesday, May 4, Elizabeth Hasselbeck opined on The View that Erin Andrews’ “Dancing with the Stars” outfights were too revealing. Instead of just saying something to the effect of “her outfits are a little skimpy” and then moving on, she decided that she’s the fashion police and that it is acceptable to joke about the Erin Andrews peephole video event and while everybody watched in horror:
“as inexcusable as it was for that guy to go in and try to peep on her in her hotel room … I mean, in some way if I’m him, I’m like ‘Man! I could’ve just waited 12 weeks and seen this,’ a little bit less, without the prison time!”
(From the Huffington Post). I guess sense and class can't be bought, regardless how rich you are. Ironically enough, it is forgotten to be displayed by the rich class often.
Erin Andrews isn't amused at all
To respond to Elizabeth Hasselbeck, Andrews said her remarks were “a slap in the face to victims of stalking and sexual predators” after she appeared on Dancing with the Stars.
Hasselbeck apologizes
On May 5, Hasselbeck apologized for her remarks. She even got teary eyed during the apology. She does seem legitimately sorry, but some are likely to cynically assume that she’s only sorry because she got in trouble, not because she actually did something wrong.
Where is the line drawn?
The fallout of Elizabeth Hasselbeck’s Erin Andrews remarks has likely run its course, and in a week or so, we’ll all have forgotten it. I guess in the grand scheme she put her foot in her mouth and realized it. Although nobody should feel like they can't say what they think, some things go just a little too far.
