You are able to now legally hack the iPhone 4G

Legal Hacks for the iPhone 4G, Jailbreaking

Sunday, jailbreak for the iPhone 4 happened. Since the Apple App Store has originally been the only place to get applications, now iPhone 4 users can get them elsewhere. Unapproved apps can be downloaded with the iPhone 4 jailbreak. Other networks besides AT and T could be hacked with this jailbreaking. Apple, which exercises tight control over the iPhone network and iPhone app approval process, says jailbreaking the iPhone 4 “can severely degrade the experience”.

Finding the iPhone jailbreak

Less than a week after copyright officials in the U.S. ruled that jailbreaking the iPhone 4 is legal, a developer has released an app intended to do it. CNN reports the iPhone 4 jailbreak is accessible at jailbreakme.com. iPhone 4 owners can get apps from stores other than the Apple App Store with the iPhone 4 jailbreak hack. The jailbreak could be received using an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with the Safari browser. This jailbreak is special since you are able to download it straight onto your iPhone instead of going to your computer first.

Apple not thrilled about legal jailbreaking

The Digital Millennium Copyright Act makes it possible for jailbreaking to be legal. The Digital Millennium Copyright Act wasn’t being touched with jailbreaking as outlined by the Library of Congress (LOC) which was reported by Info Week. Jailbreaking, as outlined by LOC’s chief librarian is, “innocuous at worst and beneficial at best Apple strenuously disagreed. The company issued a statement in which it said that, while it may be technically legal, jailbreaking the iPhone will void the device’s warranty.

Jailbreak connects iPhone to T-Mobile

The iPhone 4 jailbreak was so popular that jailbreakme.com could hardly stay online Sunday. The CNN article said once an iPhone has been jailbroken, another set of apps could be used to unlock an iPhone to work on wireless networks other than AT and T, which is the only official U.S. carrier for the iPhone. Unlocked iPhones will work only on T-Mobile and not Sprint or Verizon because of the way it works.
