The well is south of New Orleans

65 miles south of New Orleans you can discover the well which is along the border between Plaquemines Parish and Jefferson Parish. The area is a marsh not accessible via roads. Workers for the recovery were stationed in Barataria Bay already moving oil from the Deepwater Horizon disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. Right now, it hasn’t been reported who owns this well. However, as outlined by Jefferson Parish Councilman Chris Roberts, the amount of oil gushing out from the Pere Ana C. collision is considerable. It is nevertheless unknown how much of the oil is leaking or how it could be cleaned up considering the area is only accessed by boat. There is a concern that natural gas can be leaking with the oil since some gas clouds are reported in the area recently.

Pere Ana C. struck before dawn near Mud Lake

Mud Lake was the approximate location of the Pere Ana C. collision early Tuesday morning. The Coast Guard ship went to the LaRose area after this happened. Right now, we have heard of no injuries. Reports from various media sources indicate that local authorities are presently within the process of looking for someone who can go in and stop the new oil spill. Hopefully cleaning up this won’t cost nearly as much as Deepwater Horizon cost BP.
